XenServer – Import VM from command line

In this video we take a look at importing virtual machine from the command line from out Windows Client. The xe.exe command line tool is part of the XenCenter install and can be foung in %PROGRAMFILES%\Citrix\XenCenter (or PROGRAMFILES (x86) on a 64 bit host). If we have downloaded a virtual appliance or have another ex[oted VM we want to immport into our current XenServer or Resource Pool then we can use the graphical XenCenter or perhaps script it from the command line we xe.

xe vm-import -s 192.168.0.12 -u root -pw Password1 -filename=”c:\tmp\ls.xva

Once completed you will be displayed with the UUID of the new VM
