Xenapp – Load balancing explained

It is by default that in a XenApp Farm all servers are assigned the deafult load evaluator. This can be used then by the Farm to determine which servers are heavily loaded when assigning new connections. A Server will report a full load when it load value become 10,000. The default load evaluator only measure the User Load, the number of users connected to the server. For a full load to be reported, 100 users will be connected; so each users represents a load of 100. We can view the load on all of our farm servers with: qfarm /load or on an individual server with qfarm xenapp-1 /load

(FullLoad)10000 / UserLoad(100) = 100 Load Metric Per User : Max Users = 100

We cannot change the deafult load evaluator but we can create new evalutors and edit those. If we create a ndew evaluator and meaure User Load again but this time report a Full Load with 25 Connection. Each user will change the Load by 400 and we would reduce the amount of users that would be connected to the server.

(FullLoad)10000 / UserLoad(25) = 400 Load Metric Per User : Max Users = 25
