If you manage the Web Interface Server you should know that you can make changes via the GUI Management interface or in theWebInterface.conf. Many folk are always a little perplexed as to why you would use the text file. Well, firstly it can be used a template if you have similar sites and secondly, some elements of administration are not exposed in the GUI. One such element is the delivery of the clients. These are commented out in the file but we can uncomment them and set the correct names of the Clients we want to deliver.
- Firstly copy the windows directry from the Citrix Receiver folder on the XenApp 6.5 install DVD
- Copy to c:\program files(x86)\Citrix\Web Interface\5.4.0\Clients ( if 32 bit machine then use program files )
- Edit the WebInterface, default would be c:\inetpub\wwwroot\citrix\xenapp\conf\webinterface
- Locate and edit the ICA Clients section.
The Clients name needs to be updated to CitrixReceiver.exe or the CitrixReceiverEnterprise.exe. With this set clients then will download the version of Receiver you added to the Clients directory from the DVD, all locally with no redirection to Citrix.
